Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph

  1. Liturgical Calendar for the Coming Week

    • Today, on the Feast of the Holy Family, the Jubilee Year was concluded in the Apostolic Administration, as in all dioceses worldwide. The solemn closing of the Holy Doors in Rome will take place on January 6th.
    • Monday, December 29th — Holy Mass at 19:00 (RU). Fifth Day of the Octave of Christmas.
    • Wednesday, December 31st — Memorial of St. Sylvester I, Pope. A Thanksgiving Mass for the concluding year 2025 will be celebrated on this day at 12:00 PM in Russian and English.
    • Thursday, January 1st — Solemnity of Mary, the Holy Mother of God (Holy Day of Obligation). Holy Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 PM in Russian and English, and at 4:00 PM in Korean.
    • Friday, January 2nd — Memorial of Saints Basil the Great and Gregory Nazianzen, Bishops and Doctors of the Church. This is also the First Friday of the month, when we honor the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with special devotion. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will begin at 5:00 PM, and the opportunity for Confession will be available.
    • Saturday, January 3rd — Memorial of the Most Holy Name of Jesus.
    • Sunday, January 4th — The Epiphany of the Lord (Solemnity).
  2. Catechism

    There will be no catechism classes. Classes will resume **on January 11, 2026.

    1. Blessing of Homes**

    There is a tradition of priestly visitation to families for the blessing of homes. If you wish to invite a priest to your home for prayer and a pastoral visit, please contact the priests personally or via available means of communication.     • Mass Intentions: Mass intention envelopes are available at the entrances of the chapel and church. Please complete all required details with your love offerings ($10 per intention), seal the envelope, and return it to Fr. Michal or the Sacristy.
    • Volunteers for Readings: If you are interested in proclaiming the readings on Sundays, please contact Rashmi D’Souza at rashmi.dsouza2007@gmail.com. Readings for upcoming Sundays are assigned in advance to registered members.

    • 21:20 — Choral singing of Christmas carols in English, Russian, and Korean.

    • Thursday, December 25 — The Nativity of the Lord (Christmas Day)
    • 10:00 — Holy Mass in English.
    • 12:00 — Holy Mass in Russian.
    • 19:00 — Holy Mass in Korean (lower chapel).
    • 19:00 — Holy Mass in Russian and English (main church upstairs).
    • Friday, December 26 — Feast of St. Stephen, the First Martyr.
    • Saturday, December 27 — Feast of St. John, Apostle and Evangelist.
    • Sunday, December 28 — Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.
    • At the 12:00 Holy Mass in Russian, the rite closing the Jubilee Year will take place.
  2. Expression of Gratitude

    From the bottom of my heart, I thank all those who participated in the general cleaning and decoration of our church in preparation for Christmas. May the Lord bless you and reward you for your labors offered for His glory.

  3. Charity Initiative of the Missionaries of Charity Sisters

    The Sisters of Mother Teresa’s community are preparing Christmas aid for the homeless and continue to collect warm clothing for adults (men and women).
    Please note:

    • Children’s clothing is not needed.
    • Please bring clean items only.
    • Donations must be given directly to the Sisters and not left in the parish.

  4. Christmas Fair

    The traditional Christmas fair, organized by the Sisters of Mercy of St. Vincent de Paul, is taking place today. All proceeds will support children with disabilities and elderly people living alone.

  5. Advent Charity Initiative: “Preparing the Way with Love”

    As we prepare our hearts for the Lord during Advent, our parish has been holding a special charity initiative. Today is the final day of this initiative. How to Give: Use the special donation envelopes available in the church or contribute during the second collection at Mass.

Third Sunday of Advent (Gaudete Sunday)

  1. Liturgical Calendar for the Coming Week

    This Third Sunday of Advent, the liturgical color of vestments changes from violet to rose. In the Church’s tradition, this Sunday is called Gaudete (“Rejoice”), as the readings remind us of God’s mercy, His forgiveness, and the closeness of our salvation.

    • Wednesday, December 17 — Marks the beginning of the second part of Advent and the seven‑day immediate preparation for the Solemnity of the Nativity of the Lord.
  2. Charity Initiative of the Missionaries of Charity Sisters

    The Sisters of Mother Teresa’s community are preparing Christmas aid for the homeless and continue to collect warm clothing for adults (men and women).

    • Christmas Fair. On Sunday, December 21, the Sisters of Mercy will hold the traditional Christmas fair. All proceeds will support children with disabilities and elderly people living alone.

Second Sunday of Advent

    • Monday, December 8 — Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Holy Masses will be celebrated as follows:
    • 10:00 — in English
    • 11:30 — in Korean (lower chapel)
    • 12:00 — in Russian
    • Saturday, December 13 — Memorial of Saint Lucy, Virgin and Martyr.
  2. Charity Initiative of the Missionaries of Charity Sisters

    As we entered the season of Advent, we are invited to prepare our hearts for the Lord. Following the example of Saint John the Baptist — who called people to share what they have — our parish is holding a special charity initiative up to December 21, 2025.

    • How to Give: Use the special donation envelopes available in the church or contribute during the second collection after Mass.
  5. Schedule for Adoration

    Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament occurs every Saturday from 16:30 until the beginning of the evening Mass.
