Divine Mercy Sunday

  1. Liturgical Calendar

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday. This feast was established for the universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the day of the canonization of St. Faustina Kowalska, April 30, 2000.
St. Faustina received revelations from the Lord Himself concerning the institution of this feast:
"I desire that there be a Feast of Mercy. I want this image, which you will paint with a brush, to be solemnly blessed on the first Sunday after Easter; that Sunday is to be the Feast of Mercy" (Diary, 49). "I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially for poor sinners" (Diary, 699). "Souls perish in spite of My bitter Passion. I am giving them the last hope of salvation; that is, the Feast of My Mercy. If they will not adore My mercy, they will perish for all eternity" (Diary, 965).

    • Holy Mass on Friday at Friary Chapel at 19.00 in English.

The Resurrection of the Lord

  1. 1. Easter Greetings Wishing everyone a blessed and joyful Easter! CHRIST IS RISEN!!! May you experience the true joy of encountering the Risen Lord and the promise of rising together with Him!

    2. The Octave of Easter Today is Easter Sunday and the beginning of the Octave of Easter. The word "octave" refers to the eight days, starting from Easter Sunday and ending on the following Sunday, which are celebrated as one continuous, great feast. It is a time of joy and exultation in honor of Christ's Resurrection. All eight days hold the rank of a Solemnity; therefore, the Friday abstinence from meat does not apply within the Octave of Easter. The Octave concludes with Divine Mercy Sunday. Holy Masses during the Octave will be celebrated according to the regular schedule. But on Monday, Holy Mass will be celebrated at 19:00 in Russian and on Friday at Friary Chapel at 19:00 in English.

    3. In addition to our Resurrection celebration, we will offer a Special Blessing for all parishioners with April Birthdays and Anniversaries.

    4. There will be no Catechism classes today (Easter Sunday) and 12th April 2026 (Divine Mercy Sunday). However, all children are kindly requested to attend Adoration on the 12th April from 9:20 AM to 9:50 AM in the Main Church.
